I agree thumb.gif

I upgraded my 5770 to 7870 and my FPS just almost tripled

Go with Hawk 7870 and overclock it. With the new beta driver, it is in every way superior to the 660 Ti and even challenges the 670 in some instances. Awesome card!

Yeah honestly, it's a great card. Worth every penny. The 12.10 drivers were supposed to make it up to 15% better than with vers. 12.9.

I too am thinking of buying a 7870 (185 after rebate + Far Cry 3). Going to upgrade from a 6870, worth it? How much do you think I can resell the 6870 for.

YOu have a perfectly good card, wait for 8xxx series and buy a 89xx series card.

OP I am not going to lie. I completely regretted buying my 7870 pre 12.11. Now that 12.11 is here I have had 0 issues with my card! My overclock is extremely stable now and my frame rates increased A LOT.

Black screen "no signal" problem.

Mostly on Sapphire cards. But who knows which other brands could be affected.

AMD said that the HD7870 black screen issue is fixed in 12.11. Thankfully I wasn't a victim of that bug, only get the black screen when I push my card too high.

the sapphire cards seem to have problems. If you can afford to spend 250 bucks get the Gigabyte HD 7870 OC. one of the best coolers . the user reviews are very positive.

If you want a cheaper card get the XFX HD 7870 for 210 after mail in rebate
