Can a PC case be turned on wirelessly? - Page 3

It is supported you just have to turn the option on in bios. It is set to off by default

If not you can as another said, wire a switch to the top of your desk there are only 2 wires so you can't mess it up even if you wire it backwards.

So I enabled Wake on Lan in the motherboard but I beleive its for onboard and PCI kind of internet connections

I have a USB reciever and thats how I connect to internet. I guess wake on lan does not apply to me than?

If all fails I will see into wiring my own switch.

I'm probably wrong, but I was told that wake on lan does not work on wireless, only via a wired connection. At least that's what I've read.

Oh forgot to say sorry

I went to the device manager like you side above and under my USB Linksys Ae3000, in the advanced section, there is no such thing as Wake on Lan.

I had purchased a app from the store before reading. Sux

Here from the developer

http://davet.org/

WOL requires wired ethernet. The machine you are trying to wake must be hard-wired to a switch or access point. The WOL packet can be sent from a wireless device, but it must go into the target machine through an ethernet cable

Ï will look into other solutions now.

honestly its easy to wire your own power button.

it is two cables that come from the mobo "jumping" these two connections turn on your PC
if you have wire, the solution should not cost more than $5.

very hard to "MESS UP"

Good luck

Some motherboards have the option to use a certain button on the keyboard to power on the PC if it's completely shut down. At least, my mobo does. Its an AsRock Extreme3 Gen4.
