First party devs, I knew you were going to say that. Exclusive games look better than multi, nothing new there, but doesn't refute the difficult to develop for mentallity that a large portion of the industry has, ie not first party developers.

Actually the only time I've read that PS3 wasn't difficult to work with was from....a first party developer, Guerrilla Games. Exceptions to the rule doesn't make the rule invalid.

Multiplatform games generally have better textures on 360, look at a recent release like Sleeping Dogs.

It wouldn't surprise me if this placeholder APU has the GPU overclocked to 1 Ghz (it's capable of doing it), perhaps with a 125w TDP, in order to come closer to the real performance of the Steamroller APU. The CPU part may also be overclocked to achieve the same effect.
As to resolution, yes, I think it will probably be running newer games at 720p a few years after release and then drop to sub 720p just like the PS3 right now.

Nah I think it will be available to handle 1080p perfectly at a minimum. Especially if they decide to crossfire the A10 as a lot of rumors over the past year half already suggested will happen. With the amount of optimization console games receive it shouldn't be an issue at all, the addition of a lot more RAM (Both system and graphics) should help even further.

I am thinking about it from another angle.

If the ISA is x86 and the graphics is the OpenGL and DX we find in modern GPUs

We can just wait for the emulator rather than going out and wasting upwards of $400 for the console itself (at launch).

At least, I can use my PC without switching to console and then again getting back to PC.

A game is a game regardless of it being from a first or third party developer. It just shows who is willing to put in more of an effort rather than just release whatever is available as quickly as possible.

I could rock with it also.

For the person talking about an "A10 seems kinda underpowered," you have to keep in mind people will only pay so much for an console. When you think about it the A10 is at least 5x than what the current console are, so devs, make it happen. thumb.gif

Yea it would be easier to emulate, but an emulation still requires A LOT more raw performance than the initial product.

I will still buy either the PS4/New Xbox just for my TV....makes it easier to game with friends, and family.

Or who's willing to pay more to other developers to code for 3 different platforms for a very profitable or wide release.

Actually it's not. A studio having to use resources for 2/3 platforms versus a studio that can concentrate on 1 makes a difference. Having the in house tools, money, and hardware expertise of a first party developer also makes a difference. Look at Halo 4 and the obsene amount of money poured into that game. Do you think it would look the same on PS3 and PC if the developer had to divide it's resources?

Developers may be willing to put in the work, but usually are held up because of manpower, money, or deadlines.

naughty dog is a sony studio, so they put all their resources in to coding for one system...*most* other devs have to code for 3 different systems so if you want perfection for all 3 systems its gonna cost you alot of time and money.

correct me if i am wrong, but what games look the best on the 360, or playstation 3? usually its exclusives for the most part.
