That's is the funniest thing I've heard all week.....

PS3 has sold 70+ million and you're trying to say that people don't use it for gaming?

There's not a picture or word that can describe how dumb that logic is...

When the PS3 first came out, it was cheaper then other bluray players. Some people did buy it for this alone. It is also very well known that they play bluray in addition to being able to run netflix and capable of streaming. People also buy them for this alone.

Your statistic of "70 million sold, they must be used for gaming" is just as bad as the vgcharts "people have 6 games, they must be used for gaming". The number means nothing.

The idea that people do not use if for gaming is based on people we know. Yours is based on a random statistic that has nothing to do with the argument at hand. Find numbers that prove they do use it for gaming, and that will have something to do with it.

Netflix was not available on the PS3 until YEARS after its release.

100% of the people I know use it for gaming first by the way.

That would be a reason to buy it as one now, not when it first came out. When it first came out was just the bluray half of that.

And thank you for adding that, it's worth more then some random statistic.

I'm not even going to waste my time with you, I have better things to be doing with my time, like licking a toilet seat or watching paint dry.

Tell me, if 70 million 4p motherboards sold, would they all be used for folding? Would they all be used for ESXi servers? Would they be used in supercomputers?

You don't know, do you? Stick the graph of "70 million sold" in the toilet you'll be licking so you can think about it some more.

Better analogy:
If 70 million coca cola cans are sold, will all be used for drinking? Would they be collected?
How about if 70 million car stereos were sold, will most be used as a radio? Or would they most be used as a CD player?
What about if 70 million cars were sold, will most be used for driving on the road? Or will most be used as a race car?

Closer yet, 70 million SUVs were sold. Will they be used to haul people/things around, or will they carry only one person to and from work every day?

You seriously underestimate the appeal of a PS3 from a normal media providing stand point.

KyadCK you're on to something... I just Googled PS3 games sales and useage statistics and they showered that millions of people globally play games on PS3.

It's a conspiracy, the Internet is lying to us, no one would ever play games on a games console!!

Alert all the media and news sites about this discovery, maybe it's not too late to show people the truth!!!

Millions meaning.... what? 2 million? 50 million? How many people bought the game, played it to the end once, and now use their PS3 only for other things?

You seriously underestimate the appeal of a PS3 from a normal media providing stand point.

All good analogies. I do not underestimate anything, by the way. Yes, the PS3 was popular as a media player, but that does not mean 36 million people bought it just for mainly movies.
