I've done manufacturer refurb before and have not had an issue. Depends on what level of risk you are willing to accept, really. Can you be without a motherboard for a few weeks if you have to send it back to the manufacturer again? Can you afford to replace it temporarily/permanently.

Ask yourself questions like that and see if the answers add up to the cost difference from buying it new.

Good luck, though. I'll make sure I don't bid on that one wink.gif

if the seller has a good reputation and established a rep ratable eBay store i wouldnt be worried... i have bought numerous manufacturer refurb equipment of ebay such as networking gear and refurb servers and never had any issues..

im just curious as to what is new on the mobo. i.e. did someone overlcok it to death or just a failed usb or sata port. i will have a spare mobo the only thing is its time changing around. thats assuming its gonna brake. ill tihnk about it. when they list it as factory refurbished does that really mean its as good as state as a new one?

Again that depends on the seller.

For most people on eBay "seller refurbished" is the new "used", they just say that because they dusted it off, and made sure it works.
Factory refurbished *should* mean that the product was tested and/or repaied by the manufacturer to be in like new working condition.

Take that into consideration in addition to the risks posed in earlier posts and decide if it's worth the lower price to you.
