Waterblocks: Nickled Plated or Not?

Thread Starter
So since the GTX 700s are looking to not be out till mid next year I figured I’ll just SLI 670's. They will keep me above 60fps with maxed everything on very high resolutions. I am looking to water-cool them since I'm water-cooling my whole computer.
These are the two blocks I'm looking at:

Watercool HEATKILLER® GPU-X³ GTX 670
and
Watercool HEATKILLER® GPU-X³ GTX 670 Ni-Bl

I know nickel is supposed to be better at transferring heat but will the temperature difference be high enough to justify the extra $30 each?
Perhaps you guys know any better blocks I could look at? I know EK makes good blocks; I personally just think the designs are kind of boring. But hey, if they beat any other blocks then I'll get them.

Go with the cheaper one, they will both give great results.

Nickel plating will not have a measurable impact on temperatures. If anything it will reduce the heat transfer rate as it adds another transfer step, however you would need lab grade equipment to measure that.

Nickel plating is used for looks and corrosion protection. Copper will tarnish, turning darker. Nickel will stay shiny, providing the plating is done properly and does not flake.

I would say if you like the look of the nickel blocks then go for it, if not then copper is fine.

Its come to my attention that the 670 FTW can wear certain 680 blocks. Might go with that instead.

Yeah i've heard that too! Just research carefully you don't want to order and it don't fit!

Yeah, I'm checking several threads and pictures. Look like the Watercool HEATKILLER® GPU-X³ GTX 680 LT will fit. If that's the case I can get the matching HEATKILLER GeForce GTX 680 Backplates since the holes will match up anyways! I'll really like to have a block the covers the whole FTW, not just a small section. The 670s will look soooo sexy. Sexy twins lol.

You have heard right, GTX680 blocks fit GTX670 FTW and Gigabyte's OC one!

I got one myself, the Aquacomputer Aquagrafx 680 for my gigabyte.
