Gaming Laptop, Ultrabook or windows 8 tablet?

Hey guys! I am currently searching for a gaming laptop, ultrabook, or windows 8 tablet to buy, and i will need your help in selecting one. I currently already have a "Sick" Gaming Pc "GTX 670, 2500k @ 5.0ghz, and a 23" 3D monitor", so i have all the performance i could wish for at this current time, and year. But... i cannot enjoy my pc as i am currently in college, and spend most of my time out of the house. I got an Acer Iconia a700 tab a few months ago, and it was fun when i first got it, but now, i have never wanted to replace an item so bad with something more powerful. The tablet is basically useless to me, It cannot just function as a laptop replacement and i will be giving it to my mom as a gift.

At first, i thought of getting a stylish ultrabook or windows 8 tablet, but the Price is what is currently keeping me from getting one, considering the performance i would get if i actually went with a gaming laptop for the same price or cheaper. So my question is...

What do you guys think? Should i go ahead and get a windows 8 tablet or Ultrabook, sacrificing performance for mobility and design while outdoors, and only doing all my gaming and video rendering on my PC. Or get a 15" GTX 660m with i7 and 6gigs of RAM gaming laptop . Which will be a little on the heavy side and a little stressful to move around but waYYY more powerful?

Windows tablet on mind: http://surface.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/Content/pbpage.Surface?ESICaching=off&WT.mc_id=FY13WinHH
Gaming Laptop on mind: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834310660
Ultrabook on mind: http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-14-l421x/pd?&ST=dell%20xps%2014&dgc=ST&cid=245311&lid=4227085&acd=sJNoClDnS,30781870674,901pdb6671

And

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Asus-Zenbook-UX31E-ESL6-i7-2677-256GB-SSD-1600x900-4GB-Bluetooth-13-3-/221139827546?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item337cf5fb5a

My budget is around 1000$ below... I could go a little higher like 1100$.. so please if you know of any good laptops, ultrabooks or windows 8 tablets that have reasonable specs like i5 upwards. Your suggestions will be much appreciated thumb.gif.

Grab the Lenovo Y580. Its weight shouldn't be a big deal since it's a 15.6" and its easily gaming capable for anything out. It should be useful for years beyond purchase, too.

Battery life won't last long with gaming going, as is expected of gaming laptops.

Thanks!... but i already went with the microsoft surface RT redface.gif....................................... Just Kidding! tongue.gif haha

But yeah, i did not get a reply soon enough here, so i looked on other forums, like "notebook review" (Which i should have just done, considering it's for notebooks). 99% of replies i got was to get the y580, and give the middle finger to ultrabooks lol, so i did a little shopping online, and found a bang for the buck Y580 on ebay.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281014109329?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

i7-3610QM
1920*1080p
1tb 5400rpm with 32gb SSD caching (might be replacing it with a 256gb SSD) and windows 8 for extended battery life.
Blue-ray drive
gtx 660m
6 cell battery
1 year warranty

For 919$, to me that's a freaking killer!, an alienware laptop with the same or lower specs, will cost about 2000$ or more.... The link i posted before on newegg on the Y580 comes with a 720p screen and cost much more. So i am really happy with my current purchase!. biggrin.gif. I can't wait for it to arrive smile.gif. Thanks for your reply. Seems like it's a done deal now, so I will stop worrying about how much it's gonna weigh. rolleyes.gif

Good Buy, can't argue with that package for that price... i would have recommended a NP6350 by sager, but it cant touch the hardware in that lenovo for that price. Just keep an eye on temps when gaming and look into a decent notebook cooler for it.

Thanks for the advice on the heat.... I once had a Dell xps 17" with the GT550m, and it was a cooker!... The processor used to throttle a lot, and the gpu when overclocked used to get up to 80c without a cooling pad. But then i got the Notepla U3 laptop cooler y86qt.jpg , and it solved my heating issues. Thing is that, the U3 cooler is too Bulky to fit the 15" Y580 perfectly. So from your experience, which one do you think i should get?... I was looking at the Cm X-slim.. but i don't know if it will make as much of a difference as my previous U3 cooler. db5Fr.jpg
