Dam it Which Tablet

Thread Starter
I am getting a new tablet for my Birthday :-) I can pick either

1. Asus TF700
2. Google Nexus 10

The Asus has Quad Core the Nexus has the higher res screen. Storage I really don't care about 16GB or 32GB either is fine. I believe both have Gorilla Glass as well. Nexus of course has 4.2 out of the box and the Asus has 4.1 with 4.2 coming soon. Which tablet would be the better one? The only thing that scares me about the nexus 10 is it is only Dual core and driving a very high res is it going to be sluggish do it etc...The Asus is like $50 more just not sure which one to get...

Think of the Tegra 3 Quad-Core on the TF700T as a Core 2 Quad Q6600 and the Exynos 5 on the Nexus 10 as a Core i3-2100. Between, the two, I know which one I'd prefer. smile.gif

Just remember that the CPU architectures are different (A9 quad vs A15 dual). So even though the Nexus 10 has half the cores it's might be equal and more likely faster in performance. Still, there are no full reviews yet so it's hard to give a definitive answer or recommendation. The TF Infinity is a good tablet with a nice design and very useful optional keboard/battery dock, but the Tegra 3's GeForce GPU is pretty underpowered. The Nexus 10 with the Mali T604 GPU is likely more powerful, bar some reviews to confirm that, but then again it also has over 1.7 million more pixels to run so it better be. I would wait for some credible reviews or try both out at a retail store after release. The Nexus 10 looks promising but we will have to see, as I am just speculating at this point.

I had nothing but trouble with my TF700T and ultimately returned it. It is hard to beat Samsung's manufacturing quality. I have had several Samsung tablets and they are a much more polished product.

Don't know nexus 10 release time maybe November ? . Android 4.2 and Chip Processor use samsung A15 1.7GHz AND 2GB Ram ......
The price $299 or $399 ?? The blog Have a 4.2 OS video http://googleandroidtabletpcs.blogspot.com/2012/10/google-nexus-10-tablet.html thumb.gif

The Nexus 10 will likely have a really good GPU in it. I didn't look it up, but I remember that the GPU was supposed to be pretty powerful. That plus stock android straight from google will make the device run nice and smooth smile.gif

I would say the Nexus 10 is a better choice, unless you really want a keyboard integrated with your tablet

I've heard from many sources that the screen on the Asus is a disappointment. I'd go for the Nexus (eyeing one up myself but still torn between that and an iPad)

In for Nexus.

Ignoring differences in specs; (Nexus wins that bout, for the record.) Day 1 Software updates and the inevitable attention this device will get from the Dev community and accessory makers are what make the Nexus 10 the tablet to buy.
