Hi, i have a i7-2600k.
Im cooling it with a antec kuhler 620.

The image below shows my temps during a stress test.
Should they be lower or are those temperatures fine.

Aswell.Im disliking the temperatures sincerely. What would be a top of the line cooler as in the gem of coolers.Or setup.

Thanks!!!

Temps seem ok under Prime95. If you keep temps below 80c when stressing, then its all good.

However, Your Vcore is too high for just a 4.2GHz overclock on the 2600k (are you using Auto in Bios?). Try lowering it to 1.3v & check for stability. If it passed, lower it to 1.28v and retest...

EDIT: to have your rig in the sig, here's how its done:

I was just about to say the same thing. Some people can even use the stock voltages and hit 4.3ghz. In addition to your rig, can you also post some BIOS settings.

I was a absolute noob so today.I just ran with the inboard Msi OC genie.
And yes i did read that the voltage they set is very high.Though as i knew little i wanted to test temperatures first before dangling my feet to deep and disapointing myself.

Anyway i will be doing a better OC later on.Ive been reading and oc my video card since 11m and its already 1 am.

But THANK YOU because hell not everyone reads.

Looking at how to post rig in sig.

And how do you go about posting bios settings.

For the 620 that seems about right. I have the 920 running on a 2600k clocked at 4.5ghz with HT on. My temps top out at 60c average across the board. Then again my chip only needs 1.23 vcore for 4.5ghz.

The vcore you are running is waaay to high for 4.2ghz. You should need 1.25 or 1.26 at the most.

1.344 won't hurt the chip. It is just excessive for the cpu at that clockspeed.

Guys i need some info, Should i keep on lowering my voltages.I remember i ran unstable at 1.256 At 4.5ghz
Here my last two current small samples.Should i just go ahead and move on to BLCK i have no worries never though my vcore would be so low at these settings.(As in im fine setting it higher actually if need be)

You should track down some articles on overclocking using your motherboard. To overclock my cpu (an i7-2600k) on a P67 Sabertooth I had bump the Load line calibration (to ultra high) and the cpu current (to 130%). Without these bumps I doubt just boosting vcore could have done it efficiently.

I have found that Prime 95 runs about 10 degrees hotter than any game, so I think you are fine as well.

Good luck and have fun. thumb.gif

Thanks, and while i didnt find any decent guides for my specific mother board.

I have a 42 page on hand with detailed descriptions of everthing. And tests ran on two diffrent cpus i7 2600k though.

Like just about the best guide al ever encounter.

Anyway thanks al leave that as it is and time to head onto Blck and take the multiplier down abit or clock it higher then black.

Jesus this is so interesting.

I have a feeling that the voltage is very low as you can see in the second picture.
That doesn't mean you are stable with that voltage. You can't run Prime95 for 10 minutes and call it a day.
To insure maximum stability (for gaming), have it run for 4-6 hours.
