Hurricane Sandy's Wrath! 775 Motherboard Blew, New Build Or New Motherboard?

I 'had' a decient gaming computer then that storm messed up my motherboard.
I had:

Gigabyte EP45-UD3P - Waterdamaged
X3370 775 CPU Overclocked to 3.6ghz 1.175v Lapped
Thermaltake Butterfly Cooler with indigo extreme
MSI 480GTX With Aftermarket Custom Triple Slot Cooler
Four 2GB G.Skill Trident 1200mhz DDR2 5-5-5-15 1.8v, 8GB
Killer Xeno Network Card PCI-E
SoundBlaster X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty
ATI Theater 650 PCI
6 x 8GB = 45GB, RAID0 Made with ESATA OCZ Throttle Drives, 540Mb/s Read, 180MB/s Write
Seagate 1TB 7200.11
MSI 24x DVD Burner
750W Ultra LSP Powersupply

Everything else tested fine.

Ok I was windering if i should get a new motherboard to replace the burned one, or sell my processor and ram and put it toward a new motherboard processor and ram.

I believe the memory may be valuable because i believe it was the fastest ddr2 ever made and I really hate to sell it.

The processor should fetch atleast 100$ and i have about 200$ to play with now.

I am considering upgrading because ddr3 is so cheap and i might want to get a cheap vishera six core maby or a i7 920, i dunno I like intel though but the amd motherboards seem cheaper with the ports i need.

I need atleast 8 sata ports but would like 10 because I had none available for the new 3tb I want.

I need a motherboard with a place to put my 3 expansion cards (2 PCI-e 1x, 1 PCI) after my graphics card takes up 3 slots.

I just want something that performs maby a third faster because I was still very happy with my Yorktown 775.

If I was going to get a new motherboard only I was considering the P5Q-Premium, but its atleast 200$ used.

If you read this far, thanks your time even if you don't respond, but please do, even if its just a silly comment!

Part it out - sell it off - buy a new one.

At this point though I would look at possibly waiting until black friday since it is only a few weeks away and you can get some pretty darn good deals.

OR.

You could buy stuff off of ebay and still get an awesome rig. (I only recommend this because there are some seriously stupid people getting rid of some very nice equipment to upgrade to stuff that doesn't make a performance difference.........sorry for the mini rant.)

What do you think a cheap 920 build? (About 120$ For Processor) Or go for better?

Nah. I would avoid 1366 if at all possible. I think 1155 would be your best bet, or AM3+ if you need a cheap workstation.

i5 2500K http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i5-2500K-3-3-GHz-Quad-Core-Processor-CPU-in-Retail-Box-with-Warranty-/160912077450?pt=CPUs&hash=item25771b728a

Motherboard. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASRock-Z68-Extreme3-Gen3-LGA-1155-Motherboard-/140876494296?pt=Motherboards&hash=item20cce4b5d8

Ram http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-16GB-Total-Samsung-MV-3V4G3D-US-8GB-2x4GB-1-35V-RAM-30nm-UDIMM-x2-/271093999946?pt=US_Memory_RAM_&hash=item3f1e76294a

Then sell what ever this " 6 x 8GB = 45GB, RAID0 Made with ESATA OCZ Throttle Drives, 540Mb/s Read, 180MB/s Write " is and get this.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OCZ-Vertex-3-120-GB-Internal-2-5-VTX325S-AT3120G-SSD-Solid-State-Drive-/321011495697?pt=US_Solid_State_Drives&hash=item4abdc6b311

Lastly, sell your GPU and try to upgrade to a cheap 660ti or 7950 when black friday rolls around. Both cards beat out the GTX 580 and can beat the GTX 480 by quite a bit thumb.gif

At that point you should have a MUCH faster PC.

Wouldn't a 660ti be more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. The 480 is still a very fast card.

With my cooler my 480 overclocks to 825mhz cool and stable, so I'm thinking i don't need to upgrade that now, but I did ask your advice.

I like that ram recomendation 30nm tech is awsome i bet. But those components you recomended are about 500$, I don't think I'll get that much back, and I like my frankenstein raid0 setup, and I don't think it would sell for much anyway. Really, just a new motherboard processor and memory and a board that can handle the leftover components, or I dunno maby your right, I am hoarding old tech.
