GTX 670 Driver Crashing and Frustration

Hello OCN!

I currently own an EVGA GeForce GTX670 FTW LE that has been nothing short of HELL. mad.gif I'm not able to play any games for no more than 5-10 minutes without my monitors refreshing for a few seconds only to be welcomed with an error that says, "NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version [whatever version I try out] stopped responding and has successfully recovered." On a bad day, the screen will go in a crazy loop of going black and refreshing the screen at least 5 times before behaving nicely.

I have tried rolling back to a few older drivers and I've also tried Beta drivers as well. Aside from the stock OC, I haven't messed increased anything with the graphics.

This also occurs when I'm doing something basic such as chatting on Skype, watching streams on Twitch.TV, or streaming via xSplit. I've encountered this issue playing Borderlands 2, Team Fortress 2, and StarCraft 2.

I'm not sure what other options I have but I'm pretty frustrated at this point, any help or insight with this would be great. Thank you! thumb.gif

I don't know what to tell you, i'm lost to. I hope somebody else on here helps you, the best thing I could say is make sure the cables are plug in properly. and if you could reinstall windows that might help, just a thought redface.gif

Provide more details please. What have you done already, what are all your specs for your rig, and what version of the gtx 670

Few things to try: Driver version 306.23, update motherboard bios, if both of those don't fix it then try it in pci 2.0 "slot/mode" if possible. From research it looks to be more of a motherboard incompatability problem with the card than anything else.

Hm... doesn't look like a PSU issue. NZXT is, from what I've heard, a good manufactuer.

ackneal:

1. Is your BIOS the latest revision?
2. Is the card securely pressed into the PCIe slot?
3. Do you have another GPU you can test the system with?
4. Do you have another computer you can test the GTX 670 with?

Sounds like you've done alot of your homework already with the driver verisons, please let us know about these four items and we'll see if we can progress at all. thumb.gif
