In the Asrock 970 Bios scroll down by the ram settings and you will see a setting for "CPU Load Line Calibration." It will be set to auto. Disable it and you won't see the VRM throttling. I have my FX 6300 @ 4.8 ghz running at 1.48 volts with zero throttling. These are very solid caps in the board. You just Have to disable Load Line.

Thanks that's good to know. i have a 970 with a 8150 not over clocked it yet am waiting on replacement cooler .
i like the board but the 990 my friend has is a bit better on slots and sata ports new sata drivers not that great he had to roll them back
i am not doing sata yet so not worried .any way the 970 board is good enough for the price range. good tip thanks again

You're welcome. Quick tip I've found. Just move the multiplier. The northbridge and everything else don't really help with performance regarding the benchmarks. In fact I've experience a lot of instability. Just crank the multiplier and it will be a breeze. Also make sure C6 is disabled. Core parking ruins these chips. Good luck
