Hey guys!

I have got this game for a while now, but recently upgraded my CPU and was checking if that would give any performance increase.

But while i was benchmarking the game and changing video settings. I notice i have to turn off the DX11 settings to get some good FPS
I dont understand.

I thought my Videocard supports DX11
I have a XFX dual fan ATI Radeon 6870

I can run all settings very high, but when i turn on DX11 stuff my FPS drops to min 5 fps O.o

I have no clue about GPU performance ....

Hope anybody can get me some more info about this

What resolution are you gaming with?

Yes, your 6870 supports Dx11 but don't forget its a mid range card and Batman AC is a very demanding title, it brings almost every GPU to its knees.
You need to lower the visual setting to high or one level lower, enable Dx11 and check.

Dx11 is also much higher detailed, so the fps drops. Especially with older cards such as yours dx11 doesn't run as well. Th newest nvidia or amd cards cn handle dx 11 much better. It still seems odd why you only get 5fps when running batman. What res are running it at and what fps do you get with dx10? Is everything else except dx11 maxed out?

Yea i just say i get a minimum of 5 FPS when i have DX11 on.

But al the other settings are maxed out, also the resolution is Ofcourse at 1920x 1080

But oke i bought this card 1 year ago, im stil very happy with it!
Maybe i wil buy a second card to run a dual GPU setup, or upgrade GPU in a year or 2.

So i cant run DX11 graphics with this card, even tho is has DX11? Its not like i put the DX settings on High, i put them on low and then it cant run?

I also have ALiens VS predators, And this game also has DX11 settings i can use those on max

Understand why this confuses me?

Arkham City is well known for this problem as the Dx11 stuff wasn't coded properly.

Understand why this confuses me?

It's simply because there are different levels of performance to each card. This is like saying why can't a toyota corolla not keep up with a ferrari in a race. Since you just bought it last year and it was able to beat nissan sentra. Then thinking because it's got the same brand of wheels as the ferrari, that it's supposed to be just as fast as a ferrari...

Just because it supports the feature, doesn't instantly make it work the best and at max. I have 2 top of the line ATI cards and I only get 150fps (it's actually 150... don't know why I thought it was 82) with the same settings you're running. That's a whole generation ahead and A LOT more power than you. So 5fps for you seems reasonable.

But, are you running the latest drivers? You may be able to get some more performance out of it... but I don't know if it'll be anything playable.

Without i get close to 60Fps, huge difference i noticed

What kinda of Videocard would you use to get this game at max settings?
Can i ask what kinda of card you have and the pricerange , just curious

5fps is too low, you have an issue with your setup.

I have 2 x 7970s which cost me a little over $1000, plus $300 for the water blocks to add them into my water cooling. So around $1300 total.

I agree, 5fps is a bit too low... what drivers are you using?

Whats AVP? Alien versus Predator. The last I heard there were some serious bugs in Batman AC that were never patched causing crappy performance but, as you say 5fps is still pretty bad under the circumstances to which i say it could be part of the crappy coding or it could be something else but, I guess that's the question at hand isn't it? That said I don't own a Dx11 video card and wouldn't know where to start other than google.
