The reason I have a problem with this is 1) You do not EVER judge a product on a prototype. 2) Thos reviews because they are on beta/dev preview are actually wrong and 9/10 the issues that they have with the OS have been fixed by final release. I give you examples of this if you want.
Phew* my rant over.
The reason I like windows 8 is because I can have a nice clean looking desktop and a sexy start page with some useful widgets. On top of that (just to dispel 1 rumor) I can open any app in 2 clicks, exactly like windows 7 can. It's also fast and apparently safe.
Having said all that, Microsoft's biggest issue with win 8 is convincing people to take to it because honestly other than having some massive integration positives and being able to log into your account/pc from anywhere in the world there isn't much reason. Windows 8 is windows 7 with a start screen. I don't believe it's as bad as everyone keeps saying it is (people hate due to ignorance or because it's cool to) but it is going to take time for it to get any traction. I honestly don't know why people keep saying it's only good for a tablet.
PM me or let me know what you don't like so I can give you good info or agree why you don't like it. It's not perfect.
P.S Sorry for the marathon post.

It's actually a lot more than windows 7 with a start screen. You might not see the difference, but the underlying code is
significantly better. It handles most hardware better and it integrates a lot of features they you would normally have to use third party software for. So far so good.
The issue I have with it is the radical changes and dumbing down of the
stock UI, and locking down of "under the hood" features. Poweruser stuff, and stuff that just doesn't have any reason to be changed and forces an unwanted change in user behavior. I also highly disagree with a lot of the decisions that were made on a
moral level. I like to think of myself as a man of principle, so this matters
to me.
Of course, the majority of users will never see any of the benefits or the disadvantages I'm talking about and will just keep ranting/raving about petty stuff for no good reason.
