My opinion:
If you haven't tried it, keep your mouth shut. Sounds harsh, I know. However if you haven't tried it (And I'm not talking about giving it a whirl for an hour, I'm talking actual USE), your opinion is pretty much irrelevant and you have no place in the conversation.
Windows 8 is a great OS. Fact. It's faster in every aspect, more secure, and (fundamentally) easier to use. This is proven by the fact that people new to computers pick it up almost immediately. I apologize if you don't like it, that's fine. However, is it really necessary to continuously preach your opinion in hopes that it's going to start some massive anti-Windows 8 exodus? Sorry to break it to you guys, but you're in the minority. There was over 4 million Windows 8 upgrades in the first 4 days of it being released.
We appreciate your opinions, but quit preaching it like it's fact and like it's some sort of gospel. The way you're going about voicing your opinion is childish to say the least. You sit there and act is if your opinion is 100% correct and like it's the only opinion that matters. Get off your high horses.
The top reason for the hate on Windows 8 is the metro screen. Which works almost exactly like the start menu before it. However, it's one thing. One.single.thing. Is it really worth the energy to bash it constantly like anyone..you know..cares?
It seems online, on these forums (and on the Steam forums) in particular, anyone who likes and defends Windows 8 is deemed a troll. I am disappoint...
Than again, I see the same amount of immaturity coming from both sides...when it SHOULD be
"Hey, you like 8? Cool. I don't care for it myself but I'm not going to force my opinion on your relentlessly and act like you're a moron because you like it"
and
"Hey, not a fan of 8 huh? Yeah, a new OS isn't for everyone bro, it's all good. 7 works for ya"
