I think you are confusing megabits and megabytes. 1MB/s = 8Mb/s.

10MB/s = 80Mb/s

I've looked at buildlogs on OCN and other sites on 3G without it being extremely slow, hell, if I'm hearing what people say about American internet speeds in other threads then my 3G is just as fast if not faster than most American's home bloody internet.
I went from 600KB/s-800KB/s max to 2.4MB/s max (You can see the speedtest results on my phone, above) and didn't notice a difference in anything except the ability to stream 1080p..which is not a problem on this phone.
There are areas that 3G is congested, but LTE is only a bandaid for that anyway...Once more phones have 4G and users go to them, LTE will get congested too. You should see my 3G speeds when I'm in the Melbourne CBD, that's painful...But if I'm outside of (For example) Southern Cross Station, then my speeds dramatically improve.
If I remember, I'll do speedtests at a bunch of different places in Melbourne when I'm there in March for Soundwave.

Everything. 1MB/s with the way todays sites are coded is not enough. 10MB/s is even cutting it close. If I click on a link I want it to appear instantly. I don't want to sit around waiting for a page to load. With LTE it loads instantly.... not sure why this is so hard to understand.

10MB/s is 80Mbit/s which is more than even the new fibre connections being rolled out around Australia bar the highest end plans.

B=Byte, b = bit.

And I'm not sure what you're talking about, I was on 600KB/s until recently and in terms of going to different websites I didn't notice a difference..Downloading? Sure, now I get 2.4-3MB/s.
Seriously, once you're hitting 512KB/s or more, normal HTTP loading and even picture heavy websites are more about ping for response time, if you're streaming..1MB/s is enough for 720p.

A largish 720p rip I have is 2,033 Kbps, as long as you have, say, 3Mbit/s then you'll be able to stream it fine.

When people apparently discovered a need to watch 1080p or 4K video on a phone with a 1280x768 screen. I don't even know why everyone gets concerned about LTE, if you're maxing a 1MB/s 3G connection out and have a 2GB cap then you'll reach your limit in under an hour, let alone LTE...If they admitted they wanted LTE because it's the shiny new awesome thing, that'd be fine.

So does Nexus 4 only support 3G or 4G? I know it doesn't support LTE but is it a 3G or 4G phone?
