Broken spoilers

    Clicking the + (Click to Show) in a spoiler doesn't work. It adds a # sign to the end of the current URL and moves to the top of the page you're viewing.

    Yes.

    Clicking the + (Click to Show) in spoilers anywhere on OCN.
  • What action did you expect to occur when this bug appeared?

    That it shows the information in the spoiler.
  • Any additional information that will help us diagnose the issue:

    None.
  • Browser, active browser addons, and operating system:

    Firefox and Win7 64-bit.
  • URL where the issue occurs:

    http://www.overclock.net/t/1151946/ and anywhere else I've checked with threads containing spoilers.

On a side note, the spacing issue when posting hasn't been fixed either. Edit this post to see the spacing between lines and see that it's not there in the post itself.

Sounds like js not loading completely...some lag there, maybe :)

Spoilers won't work until they page is completely loaded. If you "stop" a page while it's loading, spoilers won't work either.

I'm fairly sure this is related; viewing deleted posts (which works the same way one views posts by a member on ignore) no longer works. The page loads fully, JS and everything, and when I click the post to view it it just kicks me to the top of the page with the anchor hash in the URL. Edit; seems to be fixed now.

This is liked in with images as well. The images inside any spoiler have to be loaded for any of the spoilers to work.


Why doesn't every thing side the spoiler get ignored when loading, and then when you open the spoiler the content is loaded. This means the page load quicken and might also lessen the load on the sever.

one very annoying thing about ocn is that is seems hidden data (often the very stuff you need to access) is loaded last, after secondary things like ads and pictures.

@BritshBob (huddler guys correct me if i'm wrong) that is not not true. spoiler and rig-info data is loaded with the rest of the page (hence some limits on sig data size even when some is hidden)
