[RPS] A "Relativistic game engine" : "MIT Slows Speed Of Light (And In The Game)" - Page 2

This tech sounds hard to run, maybe not with the graphics they have, but I can imagine adding this into a more complex game might take a bit more power.

Regardless, it looks awesome.

He did not refer to the MIT site... He referred to the news link in my original version of the first post, hence my edit with added links.

I wish they had described the effects you would experience in game. Beyond saying that it "gets difficult" and seeing the colors shifting, I'd like to know what else they incorporated. Does time around you appear to speed up? Do you reach destinations faster as you approach the speed of light? Do other objects around you appear to flatten along the vector that you're traveling?

This is what I'm interested to know too, but I've got to wait to play the game to see if the phsyics are described.

One of the coolest parts is wandering around at the end, after beating the game, when everything starts warping and distorting, and they only allow you to play around with it for 10 seconds. mad.gif

That's pretty much the point of the game - to show what happens when the speed of light is close to that of your own. There's also some slight warping that occurs. Once you beat the game, the colors revert to normal, but everything warps like crazy. Far more than it did in the collecting portion.

It's meant to be more a tool of demonstration rather than a hard or long game.
