Air cooler suggestion? Read Description - Page 5

Alright I will post back results over this cooler, I will keep the test the same, so as to my current OC as follows:

2x 140mm front
2x 120mm top
1x 120mm side
1x 120mm rear

MX-2 TIM

4.3Ghz @ 1.428v
Large FFTs 10 mins

I will post my current results just for a reminder when I get the heatsink up and running.
Dual Fan: 55c max
Without: FAIL (temps hit 60c+)

This heatsink is going to look cool in my case tongue.gif should do a lot of difference, especially the airflow direction, I will more than likely ditch the side fan and replace the vent with filters.

EDIT: Tell a lie, measured case up and just realised, the top part of the case where the side panel fittings place into is lower than the total height of my thors hammer. The Scythe Mine 2 is THICKER than my thors hammer so it'll mean that the top part will be in the way frown.gif you'll see what I mean from the pictures. That's a pain

The mating surface side coverattaches to?.. The actual case, not the side cover?

Yeah, its quite thick. The thing the side cover attaches to.

No not the actual side cover.

Theres about a 10mm gap between the cooler and my side panel, so that metal piece is about a 5mm gap. Fans are 20mm width, and that just fits in between the cooler and that metal bit at the top.

Just looked at the pics. Looks like cooler should fit.. case top frame looks like cooler will stand just below (toward GPU) and clear. (centerline of cooler to side of cooler distance < centerline of cpu to case top frame) Really can't tell from pic. If you have some thermal paste I suggest trying it.

Zalman CNPS9900DF should fit. redface.gif

I think I should just go for the trusty Hyper 212 EVO. It is going to be a squeeze due to my case, and if the EVO can hit performance the same as the Noctua DH-12 it seems a winner to me.

I think my case just isn't big enough to support the higher end heatsinks.
