A CM Hyper 212 EVO only costs $37 over here (£23). That a good price?

Considering that you are too lazy to use TIM and clean it off and your apparent lack of of understanding that there are many better cooler than 212 for same or less money leads me to suggest you do whatever makes you feel good.

Bit harsh and unfair to say that as
1. I am not lazy, I just don't want to use paste unnecessarily considering I am going to be getting a new cooler, because that's a waste of paste.
2. I do understand there are better coolers but price is a concern so I am not going to buy one straight out, I'd rather make the best choice possible.
CM EVO £23
True Spirit 120 £26
True Spirit 140 £30
CM Hyper 612 £30
Scythe Mine 2 £27
CNPS10X £20
Alpenfohn £23
Antec Kuhler Flow £25
Gelid Tranq £25
There are a lot of coolers for different prices, some perform better than others, some cheaper ones are better than others.
I am taking price, cooling and size all into consideration and I know if I go out and buy one I may not get the best for my money nor will it perform as I want. A lot of people are all suggesting different coolers, reviewers are sometimes biased or two reviews against each other may conflict.
Some say the 212 EVO is absolutely awful, some say its great. People say AC Freezer 13 pro is the best, but reviews suggest otherwise.
Also looking for a cooler that can take dual fan configurations.
I know its been a long thread and I have been on and off but problem is I don't have the money to spend on lots of coolers to find the best one like you may have.
I have only ever owned 3 coolers before, I can't throw money around hoping it'll be great.

Well, I've never heard a proper review claiming anything but great performance from the Hyper 212+....the Evo has always shown to be on par or one degree better. If you can get a 212+ cheaper than an Evo, get it. The main problem with your setup is the orientation of your cooler, not the just the cooler itself. The 212 isn't huge, it's cheap, and it's a great cooler. Other than personal preference (aesthetics), there's no reason to get anything else.
About him calling you lazy for not applying thermal paste. I'm sorry, but he's not inaccurate. Rude? Maybe....but not really wrong. If it's not a matter of laziness, it surely can't be a matter of cost. The 212 comes with free TIM. TIM is just a few dollars per tube. If it cost you $45 per application, I could understand it....but surely you can spare the $0.50 it costs to reapply a grain of rice full of thermal paste. Running a cooler without a proper application of thermal paste is extremely detrimental to the longevity of your components. Next 3 times you go to a restaurant, order water instead of a drink. That'll pay for an entire tube of really good TIM. It'll save you a lot of heartache in the long run.
Also, 8 pages, tons of patience, and no rep anywhere? Plus blatantly ignoring comment after comment. Makes people less likely to continue helping. Almost as big of a No-no as not using TIM.

Well I can see both youre reasoning, and I do try and comment over a few posts in one comment section.
By the way I have my own paste that is all.
Well two coolers have popped up out of the unknown. The Xigmatek Aegir and the Dark Knight Hawk Edition. Both extremely cheap.
8 pages worth is pretty big, but I don't intend to ignore comments or not give rep, I just don't know where to give rep at what situation.
As for the CM Hyper 212 EVO, I don't know I suppose it seemed too good to be true, its tiny. I do own my thermal paste, just I wasn't sure whether it would cut an OC I suppose.
I will give rep now guys because you both have helped me throughout the whole thread, and to be fair you're right, I have been indecisive about everything. I don't want to come across as ungrateful because I really am

Don't even start.
You have bounced around like crazy wild squirrel in a cage.
Lots of good information and suggestions from 3 weeks ago. And from users if you read their posts here and in other threads you can tell they are knowledgeable.
Elohim is well known and respected.
I'm not as knowledgable as he is but I'm not blowing smoke up your nose either. YOU have not taken the knowledge and advice we have tried to give you and then when I quit
beating my head
against a wall.
you act hurt and start whining??
How many times have we said your Thors Hammer is better than what you are thinking of getting.
You install a cooler with no TIM
because you don't want to waste paste or clean it off if you decide to sell it???
That's like driving a car with no oil in the engine.
Now you try and twist it so it's not your fault I don't want to keep beating my head
against
the proverbial wall any more??

Here's a few of the posted suggestions and advice given:

And can be had for as little now as 21.00 + postGet a Thermalright HR-02 Macho, it's borderline high end, obviously better than the 212 and shouldnt be that much more expensive.
Other good choices would be the Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure or the Scythe Mine 2.

Basically.
And again, the Thor's hammer is a great cooler. Maybe he has a faulty one with an uneven base or didnt aplly the TIM correctly, maybe his chip is just that hot, who knows? (i wouldnt run it higher than 1,4V anyway)
http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/gehaeuse-und-kuehlung/2009/test-xigmatek-thors-hammer-cpu-kuehler/4/
In theory the TH is one of the better 120mm fan based single Tower coolers you could have. The only real upgrade in form of single tower coolers would be the likes of the TS140, NZXT Havik 140 and above.

Haha a wild squirrel in a cage. That made me chuckle.
I am not acting hurt and whining I am saying I definitely understand where you are coming from and yes I have been all over the shop. BUT I am not twisting you misunderstood that part.
Mind you I have changed my processor recently too.
So the Matterhorn is the best bang for buck, reviews say that I just looked at the Aegir and Dark Knight Hawk are better.
Also I am not sure I can find the mounting system for the Macho or even make it myself. It's an amazing cooler for that price but I can't find the mounting system for it.
The TIM story:
I sold my FX
Took off heatsink
Thought no I want a better heatsink
Decided not to apply TIM UNTIL I get new heatsink
Not because it isn't doing what I want
Thank you for the advise honestly! I am not hurt lol. I just know what you mean

I spent too long composing my reply and victorzamora beat me to it.
And he is right. I may come across as harsh and brash but it's all the truth. I hold no grudges or I wouldn't have posted link to HR-02.
I don't like the 212 as they are not as cheap here and there are other better coolers for less money. In America they are a good cooler for the money.
I can and did give options that are as good or better and cheaper here in UK. HR-02 is hand down a much better cooler than 212 and cheaper in link provided.

Honestly I don't blame you really, you just posted post #78
I didn't realise the Hyper 212 EVO is cheaper in America, its a shame newegg don't ship to here!
The Macho is a really good cooler, I hope I can find a mounting system for it because I know it performs awesome. I also cannot find the Matterhorn anywhere.
OK right here's probably the best post you will ever read on this thread ever again, I WILL be buying it tonight
no more cooler questions lol
I thank everyone for their time and patience! I'd be an awful politician
