seriously? crashes after 1050MHz?...

well i was overclocking my 7950, and apparently it crashes in 3D Mark 11 at only 1050MHz... i have the new beta 12.11 drivers, that might be the problem?
i was really disappointed honestly.. i was aiming for at least 1.2GHz from this card :\

if its relevant, i have the gigabyte windforce edition of the 7950

are you increasing the voltage?

not all cards will be good overclockers also my 7970 is only good for 1150mhz even under water.

are you running at stock voltage or with voltage increase ? if at stock voltage use sapphire trixx and increase voltage. if you are talking with voltage increase what voltage are you running at ?

i have the same card and i got unlucky too i can max out at 1100 and its needs like 1.26v , i settled at 1050 at like 1.2v.
i feel the same way i bought a 7950 after reading that hardocp article comparing it to the 670 where they got 1200 core , i guess i figured i would get lucky and get the same

that sucks =\ i was really hoping to get to 1.2GHz, because i dont really think that without that boost ill be able to max out games in like a year, or even play on medium settings in 2 years or so..

yes, i use stock voltage, i never thought i'd have to increase the voltage at 1050MHz...

so you were expecting around a 20% overclock without increasing voltage?

Increase voltage, cooler should be able to handle the heat at least up to 1.25v.

Remember to also set PowerTune to 20%, it's usually needed when overclocking.

You need to increase voltage.. At high core clock your GPU needs more power which you are clearly not supplying it..
1.2volts is some what safe.. Try increasing it and then benchmark..
