sorry, this is my first overclock, although i've read alot about it before i actually did it, but ill try increasing voltages
ehmmm... "some what safe?" i dont want my card to burn you know...
Now my core voltage is 1093, what should i set it as?

1.2 volts is completely SAFE.. IF you read a review regarding 7950 boost. You can easily find out that AMD itself dramatically increaed the voltage of card to 1.25. If the company decided to give it 1.25, then you are obviously safe below or around that value..

i set the core voltage to 1120, and still... the card crashes in 1050MHz core and 1400MHz memory frown.gif
maybe its because of the beta drivers.. i dont know, i guess im stuck with 1020MHz\1370MHz.

Just the luck of the draw, mine is wound-up to 1050/1350 @ stock volts and is running 95% load 24/7 no problem, at 78 degrees with 100% fan speed.

dunx

P.S. Now up to 1100/1400 stock volts.

Did you OC both mem & GPU at the same time, or did you test their max stable individually.

yeah, everytime i added like 20 MHz to the core, i did the same thing to do the memory.

Ohh, haha
i thought you had a 7950, well.. for a 480, thats actually some pretty nice temps
a friend of mine had a setup with 480 SLI... woah, was that thing hot, and they both ran at like 700MHz Core i think, when overclocked the whole damm place could go on fire
post #18 of 20
7950 is a hot card... don't expect overclocks that are crazy
post #19 of 20
Umm... my 7970 does 1150 core and 1600 vram at 1.187 volts. Try 1100/1500 at 1.175 wink.gif
post #20 of 20
I have both in my system... the GTX 480 is merely toasting the HD 7950 gently.... biggrin.gif
