Easy solution to play a sound? (not with the computer)

My next scratch build have a noise to the theme, so i want a switch to power on or off the background sound for this.

- Do not want to play it trough the computer speakers
- Audio file is ~40 seconds long and repeats

I have searched for kits from Welleman but their audio stuff just plays a recorded file once, and not continous loop.
MP3-player, sure, it works, just dont like it. Want it hidden totally in the case. (with mp3 player i need to take it out, push play and repeat, put it back, nooo)

Just a simple switch, if its on, it plays until i switch it off smile.gif
Not scared for soldering, but i do not have access for programming IC or stuff like that.

Suggestions how to do this? smile.gif

a few options-

Don't count out the MP3 player idea- Take an el-cheapo mp3 player (thinking an old Sandisk Sansa clip), flash firmware with Rockbox, dissassemble- desolder play button, solder cables in place, and extend to whatever length needed. place song in root of playback directory, enable repeat function, hook up speakers (either by 3.5mm or soldered directly to the board), attach USB power via internal headers, profit

Arduino with audio shield- http://www.ladyada.net/make/waveshield/ should work pretty well.

Doh, never thought about taking the mp3 to pieces and extend the buttons. Or just mount it flush to the case on the back side.
Thanks for the suggestion. Already have a arduino inside, dont have space for one more smile.gif

Found this one for $20, probably will do the job great. No repeat function, but i can easy make a hour long MP3 of the sound.
Just so i dont need to push play efter 40 seconds when showing the case on LAN´s and stuff.
