So you want that stove to cook and produce electricity.

That electricity comes from the USB port on the stove.

And what do you want to power with that USB power?

Battery charger or small electronic devices that can only be charged via AC120v (ham radio, my proprietary cell phone plug, etc).

That stove outputs 5v. Any device that have a cigarette lighter plug uses 12v, that includes the car inverter.

you are going to feed 5v to an inverter that requires 12v, it won't gonna work.

Voltage isn't really the biggest hurdle here, it's amperage.

I'm sorry I don't get it. Why is the 12V car plug thingy needed?

So basicly you want to use the USB 5V/500mA (=2.5W) to charge stuff, like battery charger and cell phone and stuff?

Can't you just find/buy a usb to X cable? ( where X = batt ch/cell phone/...)

Volt or Ampere is not the thing, it's them combined, the Wattage. You can use your 5V to charge a battery that needs 12V (with an 5V to 12V adaptor)
It just takes longer to fully charge that battery. 2.5W : 5V = 0.5A --> 2.5W : 12V = 0.21A
A battery is measured in mA per hour (or mAh)
So a battery from 1000mAh will load in 1h if the current is 1000mA (not mAh wink.gif) or can load in 30m if the current is 2000mA or can load in 10 hours if the current is 100mA etc...

It works the same for you, but I would not recommand using that stove as a STABLE 5V/500mA/2.5W output... And especially not when drawing max Amps...

Bottom line, get some usb to whatever cables and charge your stuff with that (if possible)
I would not start to fabricate your own stuff since the risk it will not work or damage your hardware...

If you really need more power, try to find those foldable solar panels. Also here, see what output they can give (in Watt) and use this formula to check...

P = U x I (Wattage = Voltage x Amperage)
