Depending where you're at in the US, some whole populations will refer to all soda as Coke or Pepsi, even if it's Mt. Dew, Dr. Pepper, or any other soda pop. Mainly when it comes to north/south though is where the differences are.

Operation thread derail complete tongue.gif

I live deep in the heart of coke territory, never heard it called anything else till I went to Michigan.

Anywho,
I actually saw one of those Nexus things recently that a coworker had bought. Though it was a mini, plastic iPad when I first saw it.

Generally refer to them as cokes, or by their name. The only people it annoys are the people who call them "pop", but that's okay because they annoy us too. biggrin.gif

Quantium, that actually reminds me of the first time I went to the Midwest to visit a friend and tried ordering sweet tea at a restaurant.

Waitress: "Sweet tea? Um, I'm sorry, but we don't carry that..."

Me: "...Wut."

Friend: "Not everyone drinks sweet tea, you know."

It's funny how dividing of a feature that is. When it comes to a phone, I won't consider anything without an OLED display. 10.1" tablets are too big for commercially viable OLED displays, so I'm fine with IPS there.

Protip: OLED != junk. Pentile = junk.

Man, why have reviews gone so downhill lately?
As stated, a lot of tech sites, particularly to be honest, computer hobbyist sites, are complete junk when it comes to reviewing non-computer hardware. You must spot the good ones from the bad ones.
A good one is one that only allows a reviewer to review only thing they are expert in and nothing else.

Don't get me started on the shockingly bad reviews some sites do on sound.

On the flip side, the dual, front-facing speakers sound good, and though it’s plastic, reviewers are generally pleased with the look and feel of the Nexus 10.

Nexus 10 comes out
Applefans say no one needs that many pixels

Okay. Then again, extremetech is the same company that said the Cowon S9 was inferior to the iPod Touch 3 because its sound was too clear.

In other news.

Oh man, if only it were OLED
.

So you could have 3 hours battery life?
