I have to wonder if AMD's or Nvidias new GPU's will be equal to 2 GTX 670's? Do you guys think its possible that they could be that strong?

You can always have two rigs tongue.gif One for your wife?
I'd reconsider the 120hz monitor part...not needed to be 1440p, but it's just the best of both worlds. Even at 90hz it would rock.

My wife couldnt care less about this stuff, I wish she did like it. My biggest worry are the new cards around the corner, I just put this rig together and if a single GPU comes out soon that can do what 2 of my cards do I will be crushed. redface.gif

Ok, that's good news. For your frames to increase if you have vsync on would mean that you were below 60 before which definitely makes the extra card worth something, but the stuttering likely is microstuttering.

Yeah 1 card with 4XMSAA was around 45-60fps and with 2 its of course locked at 60fps but when I pan the camera around it isnt all that smooth.

If you can live with the extra heat and noise, I'd game with them. Unless you're tight on funds, then you might as well return them and save for a better monitor, and eventually sell your current one.

This right here. Gotta good setup for surround with those two cards.....or try going for a single high res 1440p or 1600p. Once I went to 2560x1440, I fell in love.
