BTX form factor

Thread Starter
When do you all rekon the BTX case form fator will become the norm?
What are the advabtages of BTX over ATX?
Do you think it's a waste of money buying an expensive new ATX case now, as you will have to upgrade to BTX?
Perhaps this is a good reason to buy the ttake armor, can you get BTX upgrade kits for the antec 900?

Plenty af questions, so knock yourself out.

Oooh, one guy here has a FAQ on "What is BTX?" If i see it, i'll show it to you. Pretty much they changed the usual orientation of the mobos (CPU on bottom or something) so that it'll cause less heat and such so it'll save power. I can't remember for sure, but if you must know, look on the FAQ section.

BTX is i weird form factor used to supposedly give better airflow, commonly used by manufactured computer like dell, with changes like the motherboard upside down for more airflow past the CPU. in my opinion, not a big difference from ATX.

I'm here

BTX is a good idea, it won't become the norm though. The only place it has seen market light is in the office desktop area, where it does work better.

BTX is nearly dead lol. It never took off and alot of Motherboard companies and case companies have ceased BTX configs.
The point of BTX was so that Intel could continue with it's netburst line and surpass 4ghz, which would be very hot, which would need a new form factor. Lucky Intel wised up and delevoped a new line of CPUs.
