'fight stick' for the PS2?

Thread Starter
This may be a long-shot to ask on OCN, I may need to go ask on a forum specializing in fighting games & such. Anyways, does anyone have any experience with 'fight sticks' that are compatible / work with the PlayStation2? I have recently taken a huge interest in Guilty Gear XX AC and would like to have a fight stick to improve my play.

Hmm...tough call there...all my custom fight sticks are only for PS3 via the Cthulu PCB board...

I had a Hori fight stick for the PS1 and fit perfectly for the PS2 but then I ripped everything out and replaced it with the Cthulu board.

Best bet is to make your own unless there are some still being sold via Ebay.

For the best brand IMHO will be from Hori as they use Japanese made stick and buttons unless the Arcade you're going to uses some north american made buttons and stick.

So you can take 2 paths if you want a PS2 stick...

Path 1: Find 1 via E-tailers

Path 2: Custom Controller...get a cheap PS2 controller, get a Hori PS3 controller and rewire all the buttons and stick.

If you're going for the second path...here's a definitive guide to making and/or modding a fight stick.

Hope that helped.

YW...honestly it really isn't that hard as I saw a lot of sticks still on Ebay. But I can't vouch for their quality...

Best sticks are the ones you make yourself IMHO. I'd go with full Sanwa parts for starters then get to Seimitsu when you're ready for real action
