Looking for headset with good bass

I am looking for a new headset with a budget of about $100 USD. I have some wiggle room if there is a product well worth the extra cash, but prefer to keep it under budget.

Must have over the ear design so they don't cause any ear fatigue after using them for hours on end and built in microphone.
Also, I am looking for something with some bass. I mean crisp clean bass at ~20Hz and wont cause them to degrade. After listening to music in your car with a sub, its hard to go back. It made almost every genre of music sound allot better with a decent and well balanced sub.
Simulated/real surround is also a plus.

Not sure if anyone makes headsets meeting these expectations so feel free to make some suggestions and I will look into them further.

I was talking to someone and they recommended the SONY MDR-XB500 and a clip on mic. Anyone had experience with these? Also, recommendations for a clip on mic?

My personal opinion is forget built in microphones or the gaming headset in general. The Sony-XB500 will have the boom your looking for, it'll lack in the mids/highs as the lows will take up the volume of your listening imo which will have the highs roll off and the mids stay a bit recessed, even after breaking them in. You can change this a bit with EQ but then lose some of the bass but then that defeats some of the purpose.

I'd go with JVC HARX700 or the Audio Technica ATH-M30, neither will have the "impact" of the XB500s but have good bass response in their own right. If you want to actually feel the bass on your ears then XB500 is probably your best bet and you'd probably be happy with em tongue.gif. As for the clip on mic anything will do, ATR-3350 lapel mic is popular, could also look into similarly price AZDEN, Philips, etc lapel mics.
