Ummm where did you get the price for the 7970?
7970 is better for price/performance and you can maybe by a SSD or even another card and XFire.
You can get a 7970 for around $450-$500 don't know where you got $700...

judging by the prices he provided, i can only assume that he isnt from america.

The 690 will obviously perform better than the 7970, but it really depends on what you are doing.

For the games you listed i would say a 7970 will be fine, what resolution?

1080P but i might upgrade to something higher its just that i dont want to upgrade in a good bit of time since it can be a little dodgy for me to upgrade my rig,
i dont really want to cheap out on something and upgrade later but how good is the Gigabyte 690?
I would really want to know if there where any problems with it or anything
post #7 of 43
Since the 7970 is way overpriced there, the 690 is a no-brainer. It's basically two 680s, and no card touches it.

7970 imo, GTX690 is a good card but you'll likely hit a Vram wall with future titles if you play over 1080p.
