7900gs - Page 2

For those who are saying the GS is better than the GT, here look at this chart: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards....=360&card2=313

Clearly it's not.

I should have taken a 3rd look, I looked twice and I couldn't figure out why is it that I saw a G70 for the GS......I thought: Hmm, weird because the 79xx were all G71 but since that I made the mistake of not looking a 3rd time......

Yes, the 7900 GS is better: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards....=443&card2=313

Except! I wouldn't go for the 7900GS mainly because it has the G71 GPU. G71 are to prone to artifact with a mild 24/7 OC whereas the G70 (7800GT) can be run 24/7 with a high OC and be artifact free.

So, I'd say OC the GT to GS speeds and done.

I thought that was only with the first batch of 79 cards that had a bad memory voltage problem?

Not really, I've even hear of some GTO, I was going to buy a GTO but decided to wait and sure enough, someone had issues with it. So IMO the 79xx cards (G71) is not worth buying due to the high risk of the cards just craping out eventually.

Then again, I'm talking about overclocking the cards because it seems as if only when overclocked their artifact and not at stock speeds but......I never run at stock speeds either of my components that can be OC'd.

Well it's been said that the 7900GTOs were actually the 7900GTXs that had bad memory voltage, so they just downed the clock on the memory and rebadged them as 7900GTO.
