That is the dumbest thing I have ever read.

Yep, 2-3% of everything bought can have issues out of the box, it happens. (I still don't quite get why that was posted in the first place..)

Good for you, thanks for the constructive post.

As for why the 7D and MKII are neck and neck is that the 7D has a much, much better auto focusing system and low light with proper care is taken in NR the MKII is about 1 F stop better in high iso low noise performance and they're only 3 MP's apart IQ wise......the 7D is Canons most pixel dense crop factor camera and has a superior auto focusing system than the MKII......personally I'd never get a MKII I'd go with the MKiii or bust as whats the point in having a camera that is full frame, has amazing high iso low noise performance, yet has an out dated inferior auto focusing system where chances are you will miss focus a lot more.

I know as a 450D user I wish that my camera had a much better focusing system as I use auto focus and select points manual and even with still portraits sometimes it misses focus and id imagine this is the case with the mkii or any other camera with an out dated auto focus system.

FWIW, the 7D isn't exactly known for being super accurate in the AF department. I know mine still gives me a wth moment every once in awhile when shooting a stationary subject, something which no other body has done to the extent the 7D has.

If the subject is moving or far away, 7D. Everything else, 5D MK II.

The two cameras complement each other more than anything.

The only thing the 7D can do better is track sports in servo. The 7D can only focus fast with higher quality glass. Cheap lenses and non USM will be slow but not every lens will focus fast as lightning and for low light and low contrast good luck with any camera. I dont think the 7D is superior in AF when it doesnt accurately lock focus perfect every time but it will track a subject like a champ. But these newer cameras are just as good as the 7D in AF i think.

Im with Jason that you are over playing the 7D's ability

That's odd.....I mean the 7D has 19 point cross af point sensors with the center point being 2.8 and the 17-50 & 17-55 both have 2.8 as min aperature so those lenses should work amazingly well with the 7D and have very fast accurate auto focus even in low light.

My problem with the xsi is not that it misses focus but that it won't take 100% pixel peep sharp portraits 100% of the time even when I'm focusing at the correct point......I don't know if this is due to an outdated AF system (XSI is a few years old) or just because I'm too picky when it comes to image sharpness......

I believe the Nikon 7000D would be a good option too.
