P4 650 meet your demise called the 6600

Thread Starter
i just purchased the 6600 paired with the asus P5W-DH deluxe. what a difference from my p4 650. i clocked that thing to 4.0 and it still was way behind the 6600 at stock speed. i did a test with cinema craft. i started the processes at the same time. the 6600 finished 90 minutes ahead of the the 650. i still would like to overclock my 6600. but i am using the stock heatsink. i did put some artic silver on though. temps seem normal, so i think that i can overclock some. if anyone can help me get started would be appreciated. i guess if someone has a similar board they can give me some of the settings they use. then i can go from there. thanks

Intel sure did get it right this time around. The Core 2's are astoundingly fast for their price.

Intel showed a chart where a dual 3.40ghz CPU was 40% slower than a 2.60ghz C2D.

Conroe is a great CPU but so it was my old 650 @ 4.20ghz.
