windows 8 demanding on RAM? please?

it runs on 1gb of ram out of the box, it booted up with nothing installed was using 687mb of ram id say thats an improvement over the 1.5gb windows 7 used as a fresh install

i never use an anti virus.. i roll nakid. there is no need for me. what ever windows has on it's OS is all i use. have had 2 viruses in 20+ years that i known of and PC has been fine.

Start is a screen/panel, not a menu. And you can get to control panel by typing it from literally anywhere within start.
