LoL, why relearn what you already know? It's redundant and not anymore efficient than the previous method. It's like learning how to ride a bike and tie your shoelaces again, but in a different and more difficult way. kookoo.gif

Win8 made shutdown a 3 step process when it used to be 2. How is that making Windows more user friendly? especially desktop and laptop users?

But as for me, I never use an AV, don't use Windows either so meh. I'll stick to my lovely *nix systems that I keep locked down tighter than fort knox.

See this is funny to me. The only negative things people can come up about windows 8 is showing how lazy they are or how unwilling they are to learn new things. You are complaining about 1 extra click, jeez. I mean don't you have to re-learn where each specific setting are on your new cell phone when you upgrade?

Things evolve, get over it or stagnate.

BINGO!!

Also, with it being built into the Kernal it would be harder to compromise itself.

Good point.

English has degraded into grunty, voweless language and people are too lazy to learn. We really are heading for a Wall-E type future. I personally blame Google.

Regarding the argument that AV takes up resources.

whatareyoucomplainingabout.png

Just a small snippet of what is running, and chrome with a couple tabs for a comparison. No it is not a very accurate measurement, but it gives you a ball park idea of how much resources a good AV uses.

Stuff all.

If installing a good AV slows your computer, then maybe you should look at upgrading.

Relearn cell phone? What are we still in the 90s? As long as you're using a Android or iOS device, users haven't been needing to relearn anything with each new phone or OS upgrade.
