Well I haven't had a game counsle since my PS1 which I sold to build my first computer , and im getting a little game withdrawl, So I thought to get a next gen

And I chose the Wii I started researching it and found out that the slow cpu will be upgraded in 6 months after the release to 65nm, idk what affect this will have if any, if they will create more demanding games only playable on the wii "2.0" or what

So what should I do, get the Wii as soon as i can(aka when I dont have to camp out in line for 3 days) or wait till the later version comes out?

Nothing will change between the 90nm and the 65nm. Who the hell cares? You gonna overclock it or something?

May I ask where you are finding this information? From my knowledge Nintendo will be releasing an "Enhanced" version with the only difference being DVD playback capabilities.

I'd like to know this info if it is true!

As I am a patient person who usually waits for stuff to come and and prices to drop, I'd recommend you to wait. Then get the original Wii at a lower price point. 90nm -> 65nm shouldn't make too much of a difference for the Wii. For PS3 it will benefit a lot since PS3 runs quite hot!

What's your budget btw? As in your max you're willing to spend for video games.

edit: I didn't vote in the poll because I think a better option is to wait for a price drop

Um well the 65nm bit I read on a post here, the rest is just a guess as to why they would release the Wii with a better processor in six months, based on what they've done re-releasing the GBA and DS over and over in different versions

Gameplay will not be changed by them changing their manufacturing process. If so it would be an entirely different console. So don't worry about that, all Wii games will always be playable on all Wii console versions.

Just to cement that for you, all consoles throughout history have always upgraded their manufacturing processes. I can't even count the number of versions that the PS2 has; mine was a v5, and that was after only being on the market for about a year!

The main benefit Nintendo will see from shrinking the die is lower manufacturing cost. So they will either be able to lower the console's price, or reap a few more dollars in profit per console sold. But there will be no physical impact to we gamers.

I agree with Niko!

I Wii is practically 1 step away from virtual reality imo.

I think it owns both PS3 and Xbox 360.
