1,899 flashlight apps? Don't you think after a 1000 the person considering creating the one thousandth and first flashlight app would have been like "um...maybe I lack the originality for this job".

Well, people obviously have various creative interpretations as to what the flashlight button should look like. I for one have been longing for a flashlight application that makes kitten noises randomly while the light is on.

If you make this, I will guarantee you at least one download.

OT: Not surprised at all, however I imagine the story on Google Play is just as bad.

Haha, flash light app should be part of the phone, the old brickphone Nokia's have had it for the last 15 or so years smile.gif

That would eliminate the need for 16xx flashlight apps.

@OP - Very interesting read, I didn't know it was that bad.

I just typed Flashlight into the google play app store and took a screenshot. The android app store is going to be much worse than Apple's. More apps, more app developers, therefore more useless apps no one would ever use.

My S3 has an assistive light widget....so I mean....I personally don't need an app for that. I did download a bubble level application though, so that was pretty useful. Also had a bajillion alternatives.

Wow the funny thing is scroll through the results and see that they all have been downloaded over 5000 times.

Android has ROMs, so that's a different story. Get your hotspot app, flashlight, dock, new version, etc, etc yessir.gif

I thought Apple was actually checking what apps were coming through their gates? Instead they have 1900 flashlights!? lachen.gif

can't apple just integrate a flashlight switch to their OS? or is it so hard to do?
my nokia 1100 doesn't need an app just to turn the flashlight on.

Only on OCN would someone post a complant about TO MANY choices and make a bold assumption that people instantly equate numbers with quality.

Well some cultures don't always view more choice as a good thing. MORE CHOICE = Always better, is an American Attitude.
