This is mine. It's a photo of my PSU, I was selling my PC.

whats your CPU. You will have to restrict yourself to overclocking at stock voltage. I would say don't push your HD 7950 beyond 1 Ghz. At your resolution you won't need to overclock at all.

I'd definitely upgrade my PSU but basing from what you guys said so far, as long as I minimize my watt usage I should be fine with the 7950. I have a Core i7 - 2600 non-K, proc, and if I remember correctly it's only 95 watts...

And the only graphics-intensive game I have right now is SWTOR, and I am doing fine actually with my 550 ti. Currently, I can run D3, XCOM, SWTOR simultaneously with no issues. I want to get a new Card because of MOHW, and Crysis 3.

well, if you put it that way,

yes, pretty much. for the 550w.

Seems like you'll be a bit limited on the further upgrades (( more HDD's etc ))

but, yes it works for what you'll be getting now.

If you'll be playing at 1440*900 why not just save alot of money and get a GTX 650 Ti or a 7850 1GB?

that was a big catastrophe, he tried to boot his rig for the first time and it fried everything lol.

Yeah.. I actually saw the photo he just uploaded. What a terrible PSU though..
Personally when I got my PSU I wasn't sure on the "amps" etc, but I knew that there were knock off "750W" and such. I knew OCZ was a good brand (well maybe not for PSU's) but I got a good PSU in the end, turns out it's just a rebranded overpriced seasonic.. But it was on sale so winning tongue.gif
Also I use a PSU calculator to calculate all of this.. Don't panic, it's the exact same one that so many vendors suggest to use so it must be alright for a stab in the dark at power requirements. You've got to take into account that a single rail is better and more efficent etc and that some brands are just better in general too. I've suggested coolermaster in the past but now I suggest to stay away from them and grab a Silverstone, Seasonic, Corsair or Thermaltake. Probably in that order too, I really do like the Silverstones for their price compared to the others in Australia and they look nice and are easier to get a hold of compared to the Seasonic or Corsairs. Corsairs are mostly rebranded seasonics too if you didn't know tongue.gif
Actually a fair amount of PSU's are rebranded Seasonics.

EDIT: Calculator says that I can run 3x 7950's and still be 50W under rated power, my PSU can run up to 900W according to spec if it needs to but it becomes very inefficient.

Yeah, you could do it till you could afford a new PSU but I'd just splurge seeing as you can afford a 7970. Just grab a 7950 and save for another week to get a new PSU to protect it all thumb.gif

He mentioned moving to 1920x1080 as he has a screen laying around or something? He also mentioned he might be interested in multi monitor, I'd suggest a 7870 over a 7850 as it's not much more.. But for the price of the 7950 over a 7870 it's not even worth considering it most of the time especially if he has the money now and might need the better card (or most likely) more vRAM later on.

Besides this is OCN.. King of overkill. tongue.gif

yeah you should do fine. the core i7 2600 has 95w TDP with integrated graphics. your cpu would draw around 80w when running discrete graphics. With the HD 7950 your system won't draw more than 300w.

http://techreport.com/review/23419/nvidia-geforce-gtx-660-ti-graphics-card-reviewed/10

with a 130w core i7 3820 and a power hungry X79 motherboard the MSI HD 7950 OC (880 Mhz) system draws 320w.
