ciao man! thanks for the help!!!

Anyway, another question guys. What are your thoughts on a 660 ti? As of now it's currently on the same price range as the 7950 I'm going to get.

I'll go full AMD now and tell my why shouldn't I buy a 660 ti?

I'm leaning towards 7950 for the price, but I've heard that gtx 670 is better out-of-the-box.
Thoughts please.....

You answered your own question. Go with the less expensive 7950 performs slightly better than the 670 with current drivers. Even if drivers switch with performance to Nvidia the 7950 can easily handle current games.

Let us know when you pulled the trigger on your GPU. smile.gif

I needed more experienced suggestions or else I'd be banging my head on a wall and spend the money on something else for being undecisive. You OCN guys have been tremendously helpful thumb.gif

Hey desekraetorr!

I'm from the PH as well and I just recently got the Sapphire 7950 OC Edition from tipidpc. Based from the pricing that a 660ti vs a 7950 would cost in the PH I say go for the 7950. The only 660ti that can really come even close to a 7950 is the GALAXY GTX 660 Ti GC OC in an apples to apples comparison.

1. Sapphire 7950 3GB

2. Galaxy GTX660 Ti GC 2GB

The price difference in TPC for a Galaxy 660ti GC 2GB to the Saphire Dual Cooler is roughly only $3 (Php14,500 VS Php14,600). Take note that the Sapphire listed above, which you also posted is basically the same as my Sapphire 7950 OC edition 3GB, except it's not OCd out of the box.

Caveat though... If you're on the green team with your card now, be prepared to do a full re-install of your OS (It took me a week with having to un-install properly then reboot to safe mode then use drive sweeper then boot up again and install 12.8 and 12.11 multiple times; until finally I said F it and did a clean install of Win 7) since this is what it took me to get my drivers working without issues. By the way stick with 12.8 drivers from AMD since they are the most stable with all the games I've played:

1. BF3
2. Skyrim
3. Crysis
4. Crysis Warhead
5. Borderlands 2
6. Witcher 2

When I tried 12.11 (which I was hoping would be good with the increase in FPS and all), Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Skyrim would not run properly. I'd see graphic glitches left and right which 12.8 never had. Fair warning my friend...thumb.gif

Personally don't even bother.. The 7950 performs the same/if not better compared to the 670.. The 660ti is a 670 with a smaller memory bus.. Basically it lacks with AA and therefore is inferior to a 670 yet alone a 7950.

Cool! what games do you play on your 7950? What's your setup(resolution)? Framerates? Tell me please. cheers.gif

Try bumping your voltage up a tad.. It could just be the drivers are using the card(s) to their fullest potential compared to the older drivers. It might just be an incompatibility though as you stated.
I think a Windows re-install is probably in order no matter what you go from, it generally makes things work better and removes 99% chance of errors or unknown/uncommon driver issues.
