I wish someone would make a case like these to purchase separately before Haswell comes out. I'm using a 6 year old laptop and am in a dire need for an upgrade. If I could build a somewhat portable desktop (something that I could easily put in a backpack, not a cube), it would be a dream come true. rolleyes.gif

If you don't mind the weight, Antec ISK 300-150 is slim and somewhat capable. And if you have the budget, you can put a Radeon 7850 in there. One company makes a low profile single slot card with that GPU, but it runs almost $300. You'd have to upgrade the PSU in there, but Seasonic makes a 250W unit that will fit with minimal modding.

The half height cards really cost double their full sized counterpoints! I think using a pcie riser would be more affordable and allow for better cooling.

Also we can add a new contender to the list with the Ibuypower's Revolt. Looks pretty cool and has a better price than the other three.

They do not, as long as you stick with "common" low profile cards. Sure, those crazy one-off PCB designs like that 7850 will be expensive, but the 7750 low profile costs around the same as normal cards.
