After all the work we put into the insides of our cases why would we even consider hiding them behind a metal panel, please put a large window in it!

So I have got my new cutting disk's today

I have to work some poo'y hours at work this week, so I will do what any great (Aussie) modder would do, take it to work, to get some more done

The supervisor is on leave

Does anyone know how to make a side window glow with etching on it?

Was thinking of using 10mm (slightly thicker then 3/8") plexi and having the OCN flame thing etched or some waves along the bottom.

What do think? (remember the glowing color will be blue)

I've done a similar thing to my case mode for my CM 690 II, but I had to use several LEDs soldered together to to get the effect I was going for which is similar to the link I posted above.

I had an array of 6 SMT LEDs at 2.1v each connected to a fan controller so I could dim it on and off.

Here's one of my experiments with plexi glass...one side was scuffed with 240 grit sandpaper and the other side was clear.

These are different LEDs from the ones that I used in my build tho.

I have managed to cut both holes out for the rad.s at work today, I will upload some pics tomorrow I hope.

Used a metal jigsaw for the first time today, boy they make life quicker. Great for thicker metal and keeping the cut straight.

But I will so need to give the case a coat of paint, the jigsaw is so scratching the case up.

Here is some more progress pics:

My home made template did not turn out to well, all the mounting holes were out.

The next two are proof that I am no professional at this modding thing, so I am now hunting for 240mm rad guards to hide me horrid work

This is proof that a pack of 50 drill bits that cost less then one good drill bit can not stand the mighty Antec case's 1.5mm thick panels

I am probably going a Matte Black finish on this case, since I have a few cans left over, I should be able to get started on painting either today or Wednesday. Tomorrow I have a FFFT (Full Function Fire Test), which means a 13hour day of work

I will probably also go a Desktop kit, so I mount my res. and pump easily, Plus not to many around these days. But I need to figure a way out how to get air moving over my cards for the VRM's and ram, since there is barely enough room for a 80mm fan

Thought I will also show what my CM 690II Advanced turned out like, mind you since taking these I have found and put on the bottom gray bit at the front and the Cooler Master logo sticker. It is now being used as a HTPC, sitting out in the lounge room.
