Making my own case?

Thread Starter
I have a rough sketch of a case I'd like to make. Looking up many cases and custom cases, I could not find one with the design I had in mind. Essentially it is a Silverstone FT-02 that is wider and has no drive bays.

What would be the best way to build this custom case for as little as possible? I was initially thinking of using wood since cutting wood seems a bit easier, but acrylic seems to be a good option too except I don't have tools for working on acrylic.

If Silverstone actually made the case I drew up, I'd easily toss $500-600 for it!
