Zowie user here. It's decent but perhaps the browns aren't the best for pure gaming. I think you would like the reds more but it's really a personal thing. Perhaps look around some PC shops to see if they don't have any common mechies (Corsairs (reds), Razers(Blue/brown), Steelseries(blacks)) on display.
The Zowie is a solid board, especially in comparison to the logitech rubbish (I came from a G11, yea, a lot of people go through that "OOOH flashy led"-phase). But I wouldn't advise it though.
It's layout (US version at least) isn't standard so if you want to get some other key caps in the future you'll run into problems. Speaking of keycaps: the Zowie has nylon keycaps which are ... different. Not sure if they're worse but they do need some getting used to. Printing on the keycaps is also very rough and gets dirty fast (but as good as new after a few wipes, hasn't really worn out so far).
The half-arsed wrist rest is pretty stupid. really serves no purpose other than looking like dung. The included wrist rest of the 7g is definitely a plus in that regard.
Additionally, there are no feet to tilt it further which is also a pity. The angle is fine for gaming but not so much for typing.
Taken everything into account I wouldn't recommend the Zowie. Personally, investing in a mechanical keyboard has been one of the best investments I have ever done. And if I were to do it again then I wouldn't have looked at the price at all and gone for a TKL filco. But if you're mostly gaming then it isn't that important, fast touch typing is where these things excel at

(still learning to type really fast but I'm getting there).
In regards to the Corsair, I've looked at one on display and it didn't look like it would be able to take as much abuse as my Zowie. Obviously it didn't put that to the test in a shop full of people and clerks
