Can UV lights such as this damage my eyes?

I have my PC set up next to me on my desk, it has a window in the side of the case, is there any danger from the UV?

Reason why I ask is I installed that led strip about 3 weeks ago, and not long after I started having eye problems with reading and headaches, went to the opticians and they said I was long-sighted and needed glasses for reading / using the PC, i'm 24 and this is the first time i've had any such problems.

Well first off, UV is a hell of a lot different than any other LED. UV is bad for your eyes, that's why sunglasses tend to block UV. Now as far as the UV LEDs damaging your eyes, that's unlikely unless you were staring into them.

EDIT: From what I understand after searching a bit, even if there were damage chances are it would heal fairly quickly and not cause permanent damage. The real problem would be if they were high power LEDs and you stared at them fairly close for awhile.

but if they're in the my PC, and my PC is is sitting next to me, the light is constantly shining on my eyes whether I look at them or not: UV is actually invisible, the purple is added later for safety reasons or something, so am I in danger from just having them on near me and "shining" on me even though I don't have my bare naked eyes pressed right up against the leds?
