Well.. apart from P8z77-m PRO I mentioned before there's also P8Z77-v LK although it only has 4+1+1 phases I was trying to avoid and the cheapest is at the price of gene-Z. There are no Gigabytes from UD or UP series supporting at least dual 8x/8x in my budget range and I woudn't like to buy any from g-4x range.

LOL. I missed that P8 Pro. You listed it first for some odd reason....
It does look good. But the M versions have some limitations and a few advantages. If you know and are willing to live with the disadvantages and use the advantages, it would work.

I still think the full size MSI would be a bit better. But look at the reviews of the 2 and compare with your needs. Down to 2 options, now its up to you. My work here is done.

Let us know what you decide.

I went with p8z77-m PRO. Digital 6-phase CPU VRM and Asus reputation won me over. I've been quite satisfied with it thus far. Quality seems pretty decent and I really like provided software.
I'm cosidering doing my first OC'ing. Before that, however, I'd like to see whether MOSFETs, inductiors and capacitors are up for the task.
Is there a guide or tutorial on how to look for labels of the most crucial elements? What to look for and what to pay attention to?
Secondly, does anyone have any experience with asus Auto tuning extreme option? I don't know if it would be more benefitial for me to use this function as oposed to doing everything manually. I have not done any overclocking since pentium II days.
Lastly, as there are different profiles for FAN expert + I was wondering whether i could create (and more importantly switch) such profiles in CPU tuning without rebooting?
