Unable to Resolve Hostname via VPN Connection

Unable to ping the hostnames of any remote devices while connected to VPN.

I am able to ping them using the FQDN or if I add them to the hosts file (even as a non-FQDN).

DHCP Scope Option 15's value is just the FQDN (mydomain.local).

This is not a split tunnel.

Ideas??

(Obviously rep will be given, this is a tough one)

No dice -- but I'll have to remember ncpa.cpl! I've always wondered if there was a .cpl for that!

Anyways, any other ideas?

If yes, just for a test:
In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters
create new DWORD named AllowSingleLabelDnsDomain with value 1 and try again.

SKYNET is not a domain, it's my WiFi network at home. The domain in question is BPGC.local

I can ping 10.10.0.10, but not it's hostname.

DNS is running on 10.10.0.10 but I'm not sure if it is set to accept requests from VPN traffic. Could you elaborate?

I disabled the secondary DNS yesterday during troubleshooting (after I noticed it on the ipconfig/ all). On a side note, I'm curious as to why I should not mix local and remote DNS servers. Obviously if it is a no-no, I'd like to understand why to better my understanding.
