Hi yoi,

The intel HD4000 falls somewhere between a 6410D and 6530D. So higher end APUs have more GPU grunt by a pretty decent margin, especially the new trinity chips.

As a sort of off topic comment: The APU would not just beat HD4000, but would absolutely mop the floor with it if AMD could get a memory controller on these chips that could actually leverage the available bandwidth on DDR3. Trinity is accomplishing something like 14GB/s on 1866MT/s dual channel... that's the bandwidth of SINGLE CHANNEL at that speed. The 5800K would be clockable to near HD7750 performance levels if the memory bandwidth had been available. Sort of sad really.

All that said, these are interesting times for desktop machines. It's impossible to buy a "bad" CPU these days for a "common use" machine like this. throw an SSD at a celeron or bottom barrel APU and you have a machine that can do the web browsing and glorified typewriter stuff very well.
