I agree. Hopefully the guys at Stanford can optimize the OpenCL usage, maybe take advantage of HSA when that comes out. One can only wish though.

Also after going through all of the previous posts on this thread I think I saw a suggestion that AMD GPU's require at least two CPU threads to be dedicated to the GPU. I cut the SMP core count down to 2, leaving the other two threads to help the 7870 fold. Doing this didn't help the GPU fold any faster though.
Also it doesn't seem worthwhile removing the GT640 since that just cuts my overall folding performance.

On my computer I only give one thread to AMD folding. My 6870 uses 15-16% of my CPU, so one thread out of 6 is enough for me.

I don't think you need 12.11 drivers for any 6000 series? Just stick with 12.8.

You're doing the whole right-click run as administrator thing on the CMD step?

I got everything working beautifully now because of some previous old CAPS that i forgot to uninstall. Anyway why can't i use the 12.11 Cap 2 as that improves crossfire scaling Planetside 2?

Do you know if removing the CAP 2 just involves uninstalling it or do I have to also clean up its mess.

You should be able to install new application profiles on top of the old profiles without removing the old CAP, but I always uninstall the old CAP first just to be on the safe side.

I uninstall the previous CAP via ControlPanel\Add or Remove Programs.
That's the reason why that guide didn't work for me because of previous CAPs and next i will definitely uninstall the old caps first before installing a new one. Anwyay has anybody tried the new official 13.1 drivers?
