[TPU] No New FX Processor From AMD in 2013 - Page 7

That would be sweet. I mean, they did have a July 2011 Roadmap leak IIRC that showed a 10-core CPU, but since then theres been reworking of the roadmap. Who knows, that would be a shocker heh.

Heh, well that would not be a "new FX CPU"

However, I don't seem them going backwards

You would need set your HT link around 2500, but it can cause system instability that high. Erm sorry for being a bit off topic.

I will comment as hopefully richland will be a die shrink to trinity but not likely, more or less a speed bump maybe some HSA additions =) one can hope to replace his rig with a itx setup =)

AMD is making all there customer switch to intel. Ill admit that AMD has a low/med class CPU with a good price but for performance, AMD cant compete against a 3570 yet.
3570 is £5 more then your 8350. 3570 use less power. Price x performance x Power = Winner in my case when comparing these two chips .
AMD makes good graphics cards and soon they are going to be releasing the 8000 series but their own CPU wont be able to use 100& of it.

And how do you suppose running the Intel chip without a motherboard? Magic?
Lightly clocked Thubans and highy clocked Denebs can run a 7970 just fine. Make up your information somewhere else.

Search "SiSoftware Sandra download" in google.
Download it and install it.
Open it, head toward the "Benchmark" tab. Open "Video Memory Bandwidth" under "Graphic Processor".
When "Video Memory Bandwidth" window is open, click on the blue refresh button (or F5 ) on the bottom menu on that window.
Now it will test your GPU with respect to your system.
After benchmark is completed, Result will be shown.

Now you have to run this benchmark with Default HT speed/frequency and with overclocked HT speed. Compare both results,
see the values in "Interface Transfer Bandwidth", "System to device bandwidth" and "Device to system bandwidth" in both results. (default vs overclocked HT)

If you see any increment in those values with overclocked HT over default HT. Then it means CPU now can decode and transfer more data to the GPU with overclocked HT. And you might get some more frames (means you can lower the bottleneck ).
If you don't see any increment in those values, then leave it. We can do nothing.

Where is it? Because considering people are claiming that SLI is broken on AMD platforms compared to Intel the FX-8150 seems to be doing a decent job and keeping up with the 2500k
Stop throwing up silly charts and reviews which have nothing to do with the point in hand, I want to see an actual article showing the HT link speed slowing down mutli-GPU systems on an AMD platform compared to an Intel platform running the same GPU's.

580 SLI? Kinda mid range in today's day and age

Thank you for the much better explanation then mine thumb.gif no really you had a much better explanation =)

Hardly considering that it beats a single 680 by a fair margin.

They're not milking anyone - you don't *need* to or *need* to upgrade every time a new chip comes out. Hell, I'm doing fine with ~2008-9 CPU technology.

That said, I'm disappointed AMD. It's not looking pretty. The power usage is still insane, and performance is still poor.
