[CL] Corsair Announces New Hydro Series H100i and H80i Flagship Liquid CPU Coolers - Page 20

I see myself going corsair fanboyish in my next build. tongue.gif

Corsair Case. Corsair PSU. Corsair Cooler. Perhaps even some Corsair RAM?

erm yea right.

Not sure what you're saying. That we should never try and make our products better? Or that we should know how to do things today that we'll know in 4 years or something?

The bigger tubes were not possible with the old FEP/FPA tubing. We needed the old tubing because it had a very low evaporation point which helped us meet our 5 year warranty. Over the past year we found a new material that had the same evap rate, but it's not just standard off-the-shelf rubber tubes, it's got a material weave in it to prevent evaporation, allowing for the same lifespan. They have it in different diameters, so we re-spun the pump, impeller, and housing to operate with the larger tubes.

The fans are among the best you'll test. Put them on a radiator, you'll see. And so what if they aren't the best in the world, they're quieter than last gen with the same or better performance. So we shouldn't have tried to make the fans better?

And the copper plate has an improved micro-channel design. Different fin density and fin height with a different shaped channel in between the fins offer optimized performance with the new flow rate of the pump and impeller.

I was putting together a list of things to do with next year's products, but I guess if I don't know how to do it today, then why even bother, right?

I'm surprised you dont complain about how intel never put the technology they have in the i7 into the i386. rolleyes.gif

Tell his ass off George, just what he deserves. You just keep doing that voodoo that you do so well, hahahaha and we will keep coming back for more amazing products. Have a tremendous holiday weekend man, much respect!

Now where the hell is that moderator?

Can you say ass here? ****, I don’t know.biggrin.gif

Did you just make that figure up? I find it hard to believe a 154 page thread here on OCN represents only 0.1% of all h100 owners experiencing some grinding noise.

Especially after CorsairGeorge said

Doubt a company will ask a manufacturer to fully redesign internals if it only affected 0.1%...my guess is it's more than 1 in 20

Yea I'm extremely aware of the issue and its a very bad one. I have been close and still am with wlw_wl both here and in the Corsair forums from the very onset and watched it progress. I've discussed this matter at length with him and he will tell you the numbers overall are not that large. That in no way discounts the enormity of the problem, but it should mean if you know your statistics that the likelihood of a new user experiencing a faulty unit is very very small. Geez man it's late here the gee eff is over, damn phone keeps beeping email.

If you're afraid, then don't buy it, I'm not afraid.smile.gif

Also, like most users, I've had zero issues with my current H100, I seated the cold plate 6 times before I got acceptable thermals and was willing to then move forward with the build, not any fault of the H100, I typically go thru many reseats to achieve just the right matrix set and locked, but that's me, I'm pretty anal about this stuff. And with Ivy Bridge your best application of the paste interface is the central 3/5ths inline-with-die method you've heard about, too much paste you blow it, inconsistent flow, start over, any movement right or left during placement you lose degrees C. It's a steady patient hand that gets the premium seating.

Totally getting the h100i to replace my h70 when I get a case (R4) that can actually fit a 240 rad. My RV02 can't fit one without messing up the airflow.

I just might be investing in an H80i for my next build... Hopefully it'll be a little easier to mount than the H50 was.

I'm not afraid...and frankly I'm just waiting on Corsair to redeem itself although they have been very professional with their RMAs and for the most part communication
Like most members on here, waiting for review is the best choice...never blind buy only because of the name unless they have a near-perfect track record.
